France’s Quiet Wild Heart
This month we’re traveling to the Loire, one of Europe’s most versatile wine regions, and often the first to feel right again after winter. Around the end of January, tastings return, cellars open up, and the first wines of the new year are poured: a natural reset built on freshness, balance and energy.
To give a broad and representative taste of the Loire, we are traveling through several key areas along the river: Saumur and Puy-Notre-Dame, known for structured yet elegant Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc; Vouvray, where Chenin Blanc shows precision, texture, and longevity; and the Upper Loire, producing mineral, cool-climate whites with clarity and tension.
This box is a snapshot of the river in a few bottles: from mineral, cool-climate whites to energetic reds and juicy, hazy pét-nats. Low-intervention, drinkable, and rooted in place. Forget everything you associate with polished French wine and taste the loose, living edge of the Loire.

Natural Philosophy
Our winemakers craft their wines without artificial additives, chemicals, or pesticides. This allows the true character of the grapes, and the winemaker’s touch, to shine through. The result is authentic, expressive wines full of life and personality - and, as we like to say, sans souffrance ajouté (without added suffering).
-
Artisanal Craftsmanship
Each bottle is the result of true artisanal craftsmanship, small-scale production, gentle fermentation, and deep respect for the grape’s natural rhythm. Our winemakers intervene only when necessary, letting skill, patience, and intuition guide every stage. Every decision, from harvest to bottling, is made by hand, ensuring that every wine tells the story of its maker and its land.
-
Rare & One-of-a-Kind Finds
We work with small, independent vineyards that create rare and one-of-a-kind wines, bottles that reflect the soil, the season, and the spirit of the people behind them. Every box offers new discoveries and limited runs, carefully chosen to surprise and delight. These are wines you won’t easily find again, meant to be savored and remembered.

About Us
Merijn
Joran: "The true wine connoisseur of the two. Give him a bottle and a dish, and he’ll create a pairing you’d never have imagined, the kind that makes you rethink everything you thought you knew about wine. Merijn doesn’t just drink wine; he lives it. He drives across Europe to meet natural winemakers in person, learning their stories and tasting their craft straight from the source. Thanks to that, he always knows what’s new, what’s rare, and what’s truly exceptional."
Joran
Merijn: "Joran's passion for natural wines has only recently developed but it was not just any spark he felt. From the beginning he has been craving to learn more about these wondrous wines and to share that curiosity with others. Along the way, he’s become our digital driving force, making sure everyone discovers Troebel’s boxes whilst delighting in the "occasional" tasting."

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Troebel?
A natural wine subscription. One box every month. Chosen by us. Always surprising.
How often and when do I get wine?
Once a month, around the first week.
Can I choose my own wine?
No. We do that for you. You just open and pour.
How much does it cost?
That depends on your package: 1, 2, 3, or 6 bottles per month. You choose.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes, you can. For example, for 3 months. We’ll include a nice card with it.
How do I upgrade my subscription?
More bottles = more fun! Simply pause or cancel your current subscription in your account. Then add your new subscription to your cart and check out!
Do I have to pay for shipping?
Yes, just a tiny bit to get your bottles from us to you.
What if I’m not home?
The courier will try again later or deliver it to a pickup point/your neighbors.
What if I want to pause or cancel?
Your subscription can be canceled or paused in your account.
Can I return my wine?
Yes. You have 14 days to return any unopened bottles. No fuss, no questions.
What if I already opened the bottle?
Then we can’t accept the return. A broken seal counts as opened, and once it’s been tasted, it’s yours to enjoy.
Do I get a refund?
Absolutely. For a full return, we refund the entire purchase amount.
How do I start a return?
Just send us a quick message. Once we’ve received your return, we’ll issue the refund right away.
What makes natural wine different?
Nothing added, nothing taken away. Raw, pure, and sometimes a little wild.
Why is it called Troebel?
Because wine doesn’t have to be clear to be good.
