About the Wine – Fedora Vitovska Alda
I still remember opening this Vitovska from Fedora on the terrace after a long afternoon wandering those chalky slopes in Dolanci, the light hit its rich golden hue and suddenly the air felt saltier, the breeze cooler. This is one of the wines from Fedora’s Alda line, a selection born in honour of Valter’s mother, Alda, and made in tiny, thoughtful batches that don’t appear every year or in large quantities. The grapes are Vitovska, an ancient, local white variety from the Karst-Vipava landscape that thrives on stony soils and windswept hills. Here, they spend about three weeks on skins and then over two years in oak, gaining weight and presence without losing that sharp sense of place, Mediterranean herbs, citrus peel, minerality and a gentle earthiness that feels like the Karst wind in the glass.

About the Winemakers – Fedora
Valter and Mojca Kobal are the fifth generation on their family’s steep, rocky hills, farming organically and sometimes biodynamically, always guided by what the site and vintage offer rather than by a rigid recipe. The Alda line is their way of honouring family and tradition, wines that are special, limited, and crafted with extra attention to nuance and depth. These are bottles that feel personal, like the kind of wine you’d share with people who understand why terroir and patience matter.

Food Pairing
This Vitovska Alda wants food with personality and freshness, grilled squid with a splash of lemon, fregola tossed with anchovies and parsley, or a simple plate of marinated artichokes with olive oil and sea salt. Its texture and brightness dance with the salt and herbs, making every sip feel like a slow walk through the Vipava breeze.

How does it work?

Images are for illustration purposes only. The actual wines in each box may vary.

A box with the amount of bottles of your choosing delivered every month on the first week. The theme changes monthly. One month you get wines from Hungary, some months all oranges, some months... who knows!

Pause or change your subscription at any time. Going on holiday and want to skip a month? No problem. Got excited after trying out a 1-bottle box and want to go for the 3-bottle box next? No problem!

  • No shortcuts

Growers who refuse pesticides and chemical additives accept that they’ll lose a significant part of their harvest to weather, disease, and unpredictable nature, but they do it to keep their wines pure, alive, and honest.

  • Risk and loss

Nature swings between plenty and scarcity; frost, hail, heat and ferments can erase volumes, fewer bottles must carry the farm’s costs, with ageing measures adding expense to keep the wine clean and true over time.

  • Integrity and handwork

Hands replace chemicals: they weed, manage canopies, pick, and sort by hand; presses and gravity moves protect texture, while cleanliness and patient ageing deliver purity without shortcuts, increasing labor but preserving integrity in every bottle.
