The Wine & Winemaker

  • Winemaker: Philipp (Lesom)
  • Region: Mosel, Germany
  • Grape: Riesling

The Story
We are concluding this impressive Mosel line up with an absolute masterpiece by Philipp. With his project Lesom, he proves that the Nouvelle Moselle is not just about wild and cloudy bottles, but also about incredible elegance and pure precision. The Lesomnia is a sparkling wine of the highest possible level. The term Brut Nature means that absolutely no sugar was added after the aging process. It is a crystal clear, bone dry, and highly refined expression of those steep slate slopes. Philipp lets nature speak completely and creates a sparkling wine that effortlessly competes with the great classics, but with that unique and raw natural energy.

The Vibe & Tasting Notes
In the glass, you will instantly see a beautiful, fine, and persistent bubble. Upon the first smell, you are happily greeted by crisp green apple, fresh lemon, and a very seductive, soft note of freshly baked brioche bread. Because it is a Brut Nature, you experience a razor sharp, bone dry, and incredibly invigorating structure. The signature salty minerality of the dark Mosel soil jumps out of the glass and provides a finish that lingers for minutes on end. This is the ultimate bottle to celebrate a long, warm summer evening in a highly festive and chic way.

How does it work?

Images are for illustration purposes only. The actual wines in each box may vary.

A box with the amount of bottles of your choosing delivered every month on the first week. The theme changes monthly. One month you get wines from Hungary, some months all oranges, some months... who knows!

Pause or change your subscription at any time. Going on holiday and want to skip a month? No problem. Got excited after trying out a 1-bottle box and want to go for the 3-bottle box next? No problem!

  • No shortcuts

Growers who refuse pesticides and chemical additives accept that they’ll lose a significant part of their harvest to weather, disease, and unpredictable nature, but they do it to keep their wines pure, alive, and honest.

  • Risk and loss

Nature swings between plenty and scarcity; frost, hail, heat and ferments can erase volumes, fewer bottles must carry the farm’s costs, with ageing measures adding expense to keep the wine clean and true over time.

  • Integrity and handwork

Hands replace chemicals: they weed, manage canopies, pick, and sort by hand; presses and gravity moves protect texture, while cleanliness and patient ageing deliver purity without shortcuts, increasing labor but preserving integrity in every bottle.
