About the Wine – Cultus Pet-Nat “Isn’t Well” 2024
Cultus Pet-Nat Isn’t Well is pure bottled energy. Made from Welschriesling grown in the Njive vineyard, this pét-nat is all about freshness, movement, and drinking pleasure. It’s bottled mid-fermentation and left to finish its work naturally, which gives it its gentle fizz and bone-dry, brut nature feel. Expect crisp orchard fruit, citrus zest, and a slightly cloudy, alive-in-the-glass character. No sulfites added, no filtration, no polishing, just a bright, dry, playful wine that disappears faster than you planned.

About the Winemakers – Cultus Winery
Cultus is a small, family-run winery in Slovenia’s Vipava Valley, where everything is done by hand and with intention. When I tasted here with Matej, standing in his garden with bottles on a barrel, this pet-nat perfectly summed up his philosophy: wine should feel natural, honest, and fun, without losing depth or direction. The grapes are organically farmed, harvested by hand, and fermented with native yeasts, with just enough time in tank and bottle to let the wine find its balance. It’s thoughtful winemaking that never takes itself too seriously.

Food Pairing
This pet-nat loves light, vibrant food. Think oysters, seafood, crunchy salads, grilled vegetables, or dishes with citrus and herbs. It’s also perfect as an aperitif or for afternoons that slowly turn into evenings. Chill it well, open it carefully, and don’t overthink it, this is a wine made for drinking, not analyzing.

How does it work?

Images are for illustration purposes only. The actual wines in each box may vary.

A box with the amount of bottles of your choosing delivered every month on the first week. The theme changes monthly. One month you get wines from Hungary, some months all oranges, some months... who knows!

Pause or change your subscription at any time. Going on holiday and want to skip a month? No problem. Got excited after trying out a 1-bottle box and want to go for the 3-bottle box next? No problem!

  • No shortcuts

Growers who refuse pesticides and chemical additives accept that they’ll lose a significant part of their harvest to weather, disease, and unpredictable nature, but they do it to keep their wines pure, alive, and honest.

  • Risk and loss

Nature swings between plenty and scarcity; frost, hail, heat and ferments can erase volumes, fewer bottles must carry the farm’s costs, with ageing measures adding expense to keep the wine clean and true over time.

  • Integrity and handwork

Hands replace chemicals: they weed, manage canopies, pick, and sort by hand; presses and gravity moves protect texture, while cleanliness and patient ageing deliver purity without shortcuts, increasing labor but preserving integrity in every bottle.
